Tapestry ‘threat’ included in his exhibition ‘stroboscope’ at Luycks Gallery, Tilburg, The Netherlands
The exhibition 'stroboscope' is about Jan Doms’ Armenian adventures between 2015 and 2021 and his visit to Nagorno Karabakh in 2019. The exhibition is introduced by a video letter by the Armenian philosopher Davit Mosinyan.
Jan Doms and Juliane Schreiber worked together on several projects in Armenia in 2019. This led to another collaboration for his exhibition 'stroboscope'. Doms says: „The key work of the exhibition is ‚threat‘. A tapestry that was created in collaboration with the German artist Juliane Schreiber and woven in the TextielLab on a Jacquard loom under the supervision of Marjan van Oeffelt. The exhibition also consists of wall objects in spring steel and glass, brush drawings and photos / films. The 'pope mobile' is set up in the outdoor area, referring to the visit of Pope Francis to Armenia (2016) where he spoke out about the Armenian Genocide.“
Vernissage: 12 / 13 February - Finissage: 20 March 2022
