Photographs from 2017 depict the evolution of a canal in Ghent, Belgium. Abandoned in 1960, the canal had to make way for a public parking area. In the early 2000s, a bridge was built on the threshold between land (since 1960) and what was left from the canal.
A bridge - an indication of a (water) flow.
Finally, in 2016, the city of Ghent commissioned the recreation of the former canal.
My analog photographs document this transformation, set in relation to various found archive pictures.
