The Jacquard-weavings came into existence on the basis of understanding the immense complexity and endless possibilities of the Jacquard loom. The textile works reveal the yarn’s simple movement from inside to outside as well as the most primal way of crossing of warp and weft in the form of „Plain“ and „Panama weaves“ (bindings). Detached layers of plain weave add up to form multiple fields of color & texture. A wandering eye might discover the depth of each binding, the space inside.
"0 - 1 - 0 - 1 - 0 - 1“ - The weaving loom, especially the complex system of Jacquard-weaving, is considered to be the origin of the digital code and thus indispensable for the development of our computer.
The textile works were developed and woven at the TextielLab in Tilburg (NL).
